Saturday, Funday

Today it was almost 80 degrees in February. FEBRUARY. Personally, I prefer the cooler temperatures that we usually experience this time of year. And that appreciation was definitely increased this year being pregnant with Baby #2...But today was warm and beautiful so we headed out for a little Saturday afternoon fun! We went Downtown for a BBQ lunch at the Shed, then stopped by the park for some swinging and sliding, and ended up back home to play outside for a little while.

Mommy & Me- Valentine's Day 2011 & (Temporary) Parting Thoughts

We had our final class of this session today which was also Valentine's Day.
We made treats for our friends.


Treats for our Mommy friends or "adult" food for the party at the end of class. These are chicken salad sandwiches.


During the children's introduction time (when they go up and sit in the rocking chair) the other children brought Valentines to put into their bags. That process went much more smoothly than I though it would!

This was our last class in this session so I won't be seeing everyone for a while! But I am taking Andrew's mom, Erin, up on her very gracious offer to take Brantley to a few classes after New Baby arrives. That will give me some alone time with New Baby. Or time to shower. Or, dare I say it, maybe even sleep!!!
Hard to believe it has been almost an entire year since we started attending Mommy & Me! This picture was from our Easter Party in March 2010, Brantley was 5 months old. We've come a LONG WAY baby!

Cowgirl Brantley

Our friends from Oklahoma (or should I say currently residing in Oklahoma) were in town this week visiting friends and family. Brantley was schooled by experienced Cowboy Gus on matters such as wearing a holster and doing the "cross draw". I think she liked it!

Dressin' Up

Brantley has been expanding her "dress up" experimentation with hats lately. The hat in these pictures normally hangs on her rocking chair but this evening she decided to put it on. By herself. After I stopped laughing I grabbed the camera and captured the little ham with her hat and all of her "baggage". She LOVES carrying around bags, gift bags, purses, etc. And she does a really good job of it (she's got the shoulder roll down pat). Sometimes she puts things in them, sometimes it's just the bag. As I've said before, she does really well at imitating your actions. I can't decide if she thinks they are diaper bags or purses but she definitely enjoys them!
