Brantley's New Stuff...

Since Brantley hit her 6 month mark I have been introducing some new items to her daily business.

She has become very adept with holding the bottle...

So I thought the logical next step would be her own cup...

Not so much. She just chews on the spout with no interest whatsoever for the water inside. Perhaps if I tried to lay her on the Boppy with it she would grasp the concept that there is something to be sucked out.

Our newest new thing is shoes. We had a lovely family outing on Saturday to the outlet mall in Gulfport. "If you build it, and they have children, they will come and spend lots of money". Brantley got several new additions to her rapidly expanding wardrobe, stuffed animals (they were TWO for $12, c'mon!), and some new kicks. Her first pair of kicks. Precious little Stride Rite Endless Summer sandals. Yes, I am the same person who said "People who don't walk don't need shoes". Oh, how she has shown me the light! However, these shoes are obstructions to her oldest & dearest toys-her feet! We haven't actually put them on her & ventured out but they may be a "wait 'til we get there" item like the headbands with bows. And how long will they last once we get there? Only Brantley will tell...

Easter 2010

Brantley celebrated her first Easter yesterday!
She got her first Easter basket (you can also see Kris's Easter basket in the background).

She probably would have been a lot more excited about the basket if the laptop, Blackberry, camera, tv remote, and an empty bottle of Evian had been in there but she put on a good show for Mom & Dad... After Brantley had time to play with her new loot, we all got ready to travel to Lux and enjoy Easter lunch.

GrandDaddy had outdone himself with ham, sweet potatoes supreme, corn, black eyed peas, and biscuits. All delicious as usual. GrandPattie had set a lovely Easter themed table that included a surprise for Brantley...

Mommy had to give them a try as well...

I cannot believe that Brantley will be 6 MONTHS OLD in a couple of weeks but she will...Next Easter I'm sure she will be quite mobile, picking up eggs & trying to eat candy & charming us even harder than she does already. She is the brightest part of every single day. I have a husband more wonderful than I ever could have dreamed and he encourages me to be the person that I want to be. It's a beautiful life!
